Hydro Tec celebrates 30 years and will unveil a new concept at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show
Hydro Tec, an internationally recognized leader in custom yacht design, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Founded in 1995 by Sergio Cutolo and Silvia Himsolt Cutolo — partners in both life and business — the company has grown from a small independent studio into a structured organization operating on a global scale.
Over the past three decades, Hydro Tec has undergone three major transitions that have shaped its identity and positioned it as a forward-thinking industry leader:
- First, an organizational transformation — from a professional studio to a structured company, with clear processes, mature governance, and three coordinated business units that now operate across the entire project lifecycle.
- Second, a shift in design identity — from a purely engineering consultancy to a fully integrated design firm, where technical expertise and creative thinking grow together to produce distinctive, tailor-made solutions.
- Third, a generational transition — currently in progress. Today, the second generation of the founding family is actively involved in the business, working alongside the founders and a growing team of seasoned professionals. This continuity reinforces Hydro Tec’s long-term vision and ensures stability for the future.
Among Hydro Tec’s most celebrated projects are M/Y Leudin I (Columbus 40M Sport Hybrid), recognized for its environmental credentials; M/Y Dragon, completed in a record 27 months; M/Y Aurelia, named Most Achieved Yacht; and M/Y Maverick, which earned Yacht of the Year in its category and won multiple international awards.
These are just a few examples: in recent years, Hydro Tec’s designs have received more than twenty major industry recognitions, reflecting the studio’s consistent innovation and excellence across a wide range of custom yachts.
The official 30th anniversary celebration will take place in September 2025 at the Monaco Yacht Show, where Hydro Tec will unveil an exclusive new concept. The project — modern, refined, and stylistically evolved — embodies the company’s design maturity and responds to the preferences of a new generation of yacht owners, increasingly drawn to essential, contemporary lines.
